Mad Hatter Auto Repair is happy to host Brakes For Breasts again for a second year! Both locations in Omaha and Council Bluffs are participating with over 100 Independent Automotive Repair Shops nationwide and offering Free Brake Pads the ENTIRE month of October! As the customer, you will only pay for labor and any other necessary parts to complete your Brake Service!
At the end of October, 10% of each Brake Service Ticket will be donated directly to Dr Vincent Tuohy and the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Research Fund at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Dr Tuohy is conducting vital research to develop a vaccine to prevent breast cancer and put the brakes on it before it starts! His vaccine has been proven to prevent Breast Cancer in laboratory animals. PREVENT! Yes, you read that right!
Brakes for Breasts started in 2011 with only 5 automotive repair shops and has now grown to over 100 participating locations! Last year, an important milestone was reached when over 1 million dollars was finally achieved thus paving the path for Dr Tuohy to begin Phase 1 trials in April, where he began the recruitment of participants.
Brakes For Breasts has become the largest third-party fundraising entity to raise money for the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Research Fund. Dr Tuohy’s primary focus has been on developing a vaccine for Triple Negative Breast Cancer -an aggressive form of Breast Cancer that accounts for 10-20% of all Breast Cancers and tragically has lethal outcomes for those affected. His hope is to “Prevent cancer BEFORE it arises.”
Last year, Mad Hatter Auto Repair raised over $1000 and this year we want to greatly exceed that amount! Many of us have been directly or has known someone affected by Breast Cancer. If you are interested in taking advantage of this Free Brake Pad special promotion, give us a call at either location. We will have a free T-shirt for you, and you will be able to fill out a wall card that will be displayed in our shops in honor of someone affected by Breast Cancer.
