How Do I Know if My Brake Pads are Bad?

Signs That you May Need New Brakes

Properly maintaining brakes on your vehicle goes beyond just replacing the brake pads. It involves inspecting the entire braking system, including brake calipers, brake rotors, and brake fluid levels. We at Mad Hatter Auto Repair are equipped with the necessary skills, tools and knowledge to ensure your brakes are operating at their best and provide you with peace of mind the next time you are on the road.

Brakes that are squealing or brakes that are grinding might be a sign of a serious issue. If you are finding it takes longer than usual to come to a stop, you shouldn’t delay scheduling a brake inspection.

FREE Brake Pads in October!

October is the perfect time to schedule a brake service with your friendly Mad Hatter technicians because once again, Mad Hatter Auto Repair is proud to be supporting the Brakes for Breasts fundraising campaign this October and brake pads are FREE!

During the month, Mad Hatter Auto Repair locations in Omaha and Council Bluffs will join hundreds of auto repair facilities in the US and Canada to raise money for breast cancer research as part of Brakes for Breasts 2023! Brake Pads or shoes will be FREE the entire month. As the customer, you simply pay for labor and any additional parts required to complete the brake service.

At the end of October, Mad Hatter will then donate 10% of each brake service ticket directly to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund. 100% of the proceeds are used at the research clinic where they are developing a vaccine designed to PREVENT triple negative breast cancer, the most lethal and aggressive forms of this disease. It's a vaccine that hopefully will literally stop breast cancer before it even starts! You can read more and see the progress of the clinical trial here
