Air Conditioning Not Working
Air Conditioning has become a must have and no longer is a nice option like in the old days. With the hot sunbaked days to come as we are just starting spring, we all cross our fingers and click that A/C button. That magical switch engages the Clutch, activates Switches so the Refrigerant can get to flowing. The instant thought could be that my car needs the Air Conditioning Recharged. This may be true but a simple can of Refrigerant may not be the correct answer.
Why is my Refrigerant Low?
The Air Conditioning System is under pressure even when not used. And just like Oil and Coolant systems Seals and Gaskets can go bad and leak. This is nothing you can really prevent nor fix with just a Air Conditioning Recharge. The problem will need to be fixed.

Why Can I not just use a Can of Refrigerant from the store?
The cans at the store are not always the best option. Most do contain a leak stop in them that can cause the Evaporator, Condenser or even the compressor to plug up. This could make a simple Air Conditioning Line or Gasket Repair spiral into a major Air Conditioning overhaul. Without a proper way to gage the amount of Freon in the system an under or overcharge of the system could cause a catastrophic Compressor Failure.

Why should I go to a Good Mechanic to get My Air Conditioning Repaired?
With a system, adding the wrong amount of Freon could cause Major issues and what seems like a simple fix could cost you more money in the long run if not done correctly. With newer types of Freon being used, making sure your car is properly Repaired and Recharged is more of a investment than just a repair.
